Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 27, 2026
DTC Assistance Programs (“we”, “us”) helps applicants prepare Form T2201, the Disability Tax Credit Certificate. We built the service to collect as little personal information as possible. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your social insurance number or your date of birth. Applicants add them to the completed application themselves, once they have downloaded it.
Your answers stay on your device
Your answers to the questions, including health information, names, address and birth year, are saved in your web browser on your own device, so you can finish later. The completed application, the note for your medical professional and the benefits page are created in your browser. Your answers are not sent to us, and we cannot see them.
Anyone who uses the same device and browser can see the saved answers. To erase them, choose Reset application in the application, or clear this website's data in your browser settings. Saved answers stay on your device until you erase them.
What we do collect
- Payment. Payments are handled by Stripe. You enter your email address and payment details on Stripe's payment page. We never see your full card number. Stripe shares with us your email address, the name and billing details entered on the payment page, the amount paid, and the last four digits of the card.
- Messages you send us. When you use our contact form or email assistance@dtcc.ca, we receive your name, your email address and your message, including any letters you attach, such as a letter from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Please do not send your social insurance number. You may cover it on any letter before you send it.
- Website visits. When pages load, our hosting provider and Google Fonts receive standard technical information, such as your IP address and browser type. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
We use this information only to:
- process your payment and send your receipt;
- answer your questions;
- find your purchase when you ask for help with an appeal, a refund under our guarantee, or a re-application;
- keep the business records the law requires.
We do not sell or rent personal information.
Services we use
- Stripe processes payments.
- Netlify hosts this website and delivers our contact form.
- Google provides our email (Google Workspace) and the fonts on this website.
These companies may store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessed by authorities under the laws of that country.
How long we keep it
We keep payment records for at least six years, as Canadian tax law requires. We keep messages for as long as we need them to help you, including with an appeal, a refund or a re-application.
How we protect it
This website and the services we use send information over encrypted connections. Only we can see payment records and messages. Because your answers stay on your device, keep your device and browser secure.
Your choices
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email assistance@dtcc.ca. We will reply within 30 days. We may need to keep payment records for as long as the law requires.
Questions or concerns
Email assistance@dtcc.ca. If we cannot resolve your concern, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
